The Burkey
Flatliner PRO is a powersupply which offers 9 discrete isolated outputs. |
The outputs may vary between 3 to 24 volt DC and 1 output varies
between 9 to 12 volt AC. |
(DC=direct current, AC=alternating current). |
What does this mean for a guitarplayer? |
The Burkey Flatliner
PRO
can cover all
circumstances: |
- 9VDC. Most pedals need this current. (9
volts battery) |
- Some older digital Boss pedals need
12VDC. |
- Fulltone ´69 and
Octafuzz do have reversed polarity
(optional cable needed) |
- Line 6 POD: 9VAC |
- Tube driven pedals very often need 12VAC |
- Line6 DM4 and DL4: 12VDC |
- Maxon reissue pedals: 9-10VDC |
- T-Rex Mudhoney: 9-12VDC |
- Fulltone OCD and Fat-Boost 9-18VDC
(optional cable needed) |
- 'Sag' option to get a lower voltage. This way
you create the effect of a dying battery. |
Your fuzz or Tubescreamer are gonna sound
different! |
The shielding is well done. Put your powersupply
close to your wah and you won't notice hum! |
Volt:
Because the outputs are
isolated you can, by using the optional serial Y-cable, combine |
2x 9V
outputs to get 18 volts or even 2x 12V=24 volt.
This way you get more headroom/dynamics. |
The pedal must be designed for this or
being over-engineered! |
Warning: don't
try this with non-isolated powersupplies
because your powersupply and/or the pedal |
could be damaged. |
Milliampere: The current is measured in
milliampere (mA). |
Each output can handle 200 mA
maximum. Technically you can ad as many splitted powercables as |
you
want till you reach the point of 200 mA. |
Indication:
Boss Bluesdriver 13 mA,
Peterson Strobostomp 80 mA, Boss FC-200
200 mA. |
By using the optional parallel Y-cable you can
combine 2 outputs to get 400 mA when needed. |
